This 65-storey hotel and tower (crowned by a spire that soars 900-ft. above Toronto’s financial and entertainment districts) is over the top—but in a very good way. Well-appointed hotel rooms combine with a range of signature services and two see-and-be-seen hot spots: STOCK Restaurant Bar & Lounge and SUITS Lobby Lounge (plus in-room dining, meaning you don’t have to leave your beautiful room if you don’t want to!).

Two levels of the hotel are devoted to an opulent spa and wellness facility called the Quartz Crystal Spa. Spread over 15,000 sq. ft., the spa has 10 treatment rooms, two couples suites, a dedicated spray tan room, a hair salon, a movement studio, an infinity salt water lap pool, with stunning views of the skyline, a fully equipped health club and a juice bar.

Inspired by the old world European quartz baths, from which the spa gets its name, many of the treatments are centred around the essences of this restorative healing mineral. There’s also a medi-spa component: hair reduction, skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion, vascular pigmentation and acne treatments, and radio frequency and infrared skin tightening treatments are offered by appointment.

Try: Bamboo Massage (75 min., $210). Freshly cut bamboo of varying diameters are used to accentuate the effects of deep tissue massage. Tension is reduced, tightness is relieved and circulation is stimulated.

Swiss Executive Anti-aging Cell Lift (60 min., $185). Using products from the Cellmen line, the skin is treated to a revitalizing massage and therapies that firm and brighten the complexion and visibly diminish fine lines and wrinkles.

This hotel provides a true urban sanctuary, which becomes evident when you enter the bedroom of your suite and find an energy stone on your pillow at turndown. Soothing incense is available in each suite, as are comfortable chaise lounges, a bamboo and gemstone fountain and soothing views of lake and skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. The fact that there are only five suites per floor means a feeling of intimacy permeates the space. It’s the perfect combination of modern luxury and the ancient healing principles of Zen and feng shui. In-room dining is available or you can enjoy a relaxing meal at the Eight Wine Bar, adjacent to the lobby.

The Spa: The Shizen Spa (inspired by the Japanese word for nature) is the perfect place to get pampered. Relax in the glass-enclosed solarium, which has floor-to-ceiling Japanese shoji windows, an effervescent Jacuzzi and warm Brazilian walnut floors. The spa also has five private treatment rooms and a 12-person Jacuzzi.

Try: Sacred Nature (90 min., $185). Your body will get a natural glow with a dry brush exfoliation that improves circulation. Next, an organic anti-aging serum nourishes the skin, and a full-body massage completely unwinds you.

Shizen Signature Action Sublime Facial (75 min., $145). It’s an anti-aging and skin restructuring treatment that combats free radicals, helps heal the damage done by the sun and environmental pollution and helps turn back your biological aging clock. A three-part massage enhances relaxation, and eyes and lips get special treatments, too.
