Right in the centre of the buzzing fashion district, the new  Studio Lagree on King Stree West makes this Hollywood-loved workout more accessible to all of us.

Known to help  Kim Kardashian get her pre-pregnancy body back, the Lagree Fitness workout is done on a dynamic Megaformer machine that offer constant tension, forcing one to maintain slow and controlled muscle movements.  When I tried it I was dripping with sweat and definitely could feel the burn the next day all over. What’s unique is the ease at which I could manipulate the machine for the various workout sequences. I was never trailing behind or struggling with heavy duty adjustments as I sometimes find myself doing in a weight room.

Also, since the instructor walked around the room to ensure we were correctly doing the workout, I felt safe throughout the 50-minute session, which is crucial for me as I have back problems from a car accident.  After getting the hang of the Megaformer—confession: I slipped off it a couple of  times in the first few minutes of the class—I really enjoyed the workout, which fuses pilates, core strength, cardio and circuit training into one, and plan to go back.

Single classes at Studio Lagree, located at  788 King St. West, Toronto, cost $30. Or classes can be bought in packages of five, 10 and 20 sessions. Right now you can try your first workout for free, so visit studiolagree.com for more details.
