Jillian Harris shares her secrets for looking good on the go.

Jillian Harris is one busy lady. She's travelled a lot while looking for love on The Bachelorette, running her interior design business on both sides of the border and shooting Extreme Makeover: Home Edition all over the US. She'll soon be touring her home and native land once again as the host of HGTV's reality competition Canada's Handyman Challenge.

With the dull winter months being prime vacation time, we turned to Harris for tips and tricks on trekking around the globe in style.

The Basics

Harris finds it really important to take care of yourself while on the road, just as you would at home. "Sleep is key and I drink tons of water," she says. She also likes to indulge in coconut water when she's visiting a tropical locale (but you can also buy coconut water at most grocery stores. Coconut water is packed with potassium and electrolytes (with little fat or cholesterol) making it the perfect thirst quencher for weary travelers.

For skin care, Harris is a big fan of face masks. "I always bring facemasks with me when I travel. I love SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Mask ($52, skinceuticals.com) and bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask ($54, Sephora). I also love the organic line Eminence and their Lime Stimulating Masque (price varies, at spas and salons, call 1-888-747-6342). It's spicy but amazing!"

Pre-travel Pampering

It's also good to pamper yourself while on the road so you're relaxed. "I get a manicure and pedicure at the airport," Jillian says. To find out if the airport you're visiting has spa visit http://www.traveltowellness.com/airportspas to plan ahead.

Harris plans to vacation in Maui during the winter. "I'm on my way next week!" she says. She plans to get a spray tan two days before travelling so that her glow is at its best. To make your tan last, shave, exfoliate and clean your skin of all creams or perfumes before being sprayed.

Star Secrets

When we asked Harris what she's learned from makeup artists and beauty specialists she's worked with on TV she says now she can't live without Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder ($30, Sephora) and false eyelashes. "I don't travel without either!"

Try Sephora Collection's Flirt-It Lash Duo ($8, Sephora) for natural looking lashes that come in different sizes in one pack. Let the glue get tacky for about a minute before applying falsies right along your natural lash line. You can cut false lashes into smaller chunks for easier application since not everyone's eyes are the same size and lashes tend to come in long, large strips. When they seem secure, sweep mascara on, starting at the base of your actual lashes and blending up into the false ones so you get a seamless, natural look for a night out on the town during your vacation (it will also help them stay on longer!).
