1) Rethink Breast Cancer’s #MyBoobyball

You may have heard of the nationwide Breast Cancer awareness fundraising party called The Boobyball hosted by Rethink Breast Cancer that takes place in four major Canadian cities throughout October and November, but new this year Rethink gives a chance for those who support the cause to throw their own party! The initiative called #MyBoobyball allows supporters of the cause to throw a party at home just the way they like it as a way for them to connect in a way more meaningful to them. Rethink provides participants with a downloadable party package that includes a playlist, printable décor, inspiration boards and a customizable invitation to send to their guests. The host of a #MyBoobyball party who raises the most funds for Rethink wins a trip for four to attend a 2016 Boobyball of their choice and a $1000 shopping spree from H&M. Party ideas include everything from a pajama party, a weekend brunch or even a movie marathon. Watch this video to learn more on how you can participate between now and November 30, 2015. Voters will also be entered in a draw to win prizes, including a Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay wedding dress, valued at $5,000!

3) BRA Day

With events taking place across the country, the focus of BRA day is educating and informing women who are considering a reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy. Panels of plastic surgeons speak to the technical side, while women who have undergone the procedure can elect to bare all in a private setting to show other women what they can realistically expect to achieve with a reconstructive procedure. This is a unique opportunity where those interested in the procedure can actually have candid conversations with past patients, who can be truly empathetic to their concerns and who have first hand experience of the procedure. Visit bra-day.com to find an event in your area, and for additional resources and information.
