Three things you need in your life this winter to add extra impact to your fitness and health resolutions. 

It’s February, a month full of darkness, frigid weather and grey skies: Three things that can really prevent us from committing to those fitness and health resolutions we made on January 1. But don’t let the case of February blahs give you an excuse to give up and revert back to your former unmotivated late-2016 self—yes I’m talking about the former you who on December 28 was lounging on the couch with a half eaten bag of dill pickle chips, wine and stretchy Christmas pants you vowed to put to rest on boxing day (really I mean me, just adjust the snacks and outfit to fit yourself and you’ll get the picture).  2016 was a tough year for most of the world and 2017 isn’t exactly turning out to be the best (yet…I’m an optimist)—have you been watching the news?

The key during the grey winter months is to not chastise yourself if you need a little extra push to follow through on fitness and health goals.  Instead find new ways to keep your fitness goals fun and interesting. Keeping all of this in mind I’ve been working hard on keeping a positive mindset so I can continue to motivate myself while also testing out new products to help me meet my 2017 health goals. Here are three items I’ve recently tried that are helping me stick to my fitness guns and my personal commitment to put my wellness first above all this year. 

Stylish and Functional Running Shoes

Although I am not a runner, I enjoy high impact aerobic activities including zumba and training classes. This winter I started up my zumba classes again with my sister. It’s our weekly hang out as sisters and after class we usually eat dinner together at my condo and catch up.  As much as I love zumba, since the work out takes place on a hardwood floor (our classes are hosted in my condo party room) the high impact exercise can be hard on my knees and joints. A Power Breakfast
