adioposeDescription: Stem cells are harvested from fat tissue via liposuction during cosmetic procedures with local anesthetic. Stem cells can be used to repair the heart, pancreas, liver and are also successful in clinical trials for autoimmune diseases such as MS, lupus, and Crohn’s disease. They can also be used for cartilage defects in osteoarthritis, growing hair in balding patients and to reduce scarring associated with scar revisions.

How it’s Done: The fat cells for stem cell banking are harvested when you are already on the table for another cosmetic procedure. After fat is harvested it is placed in a sterile bag and sent under cold conditions to Adisave. The fat is then washed, enzymatically digested and separated from the fat tissue. After stem cell validation the cells are then frozen via cryopreservation and stored for future use as bioinsurance.

Recovery: There are no risks of using your own unmanipulated adult stem cells.  It doesn’t add a lot of additional time to your procedure and no special precautions need to be taken. Process takes about two hours and does not include additional downtime to the procedure a patient is already having.

Cost: Separation and storage at Adisave for one year is  $1795 plus tax.  For fat cell harvesting alone it costs $2000 to  $2500. Harvested fat for future cosmetic use can also be stored at Adisave for additional  $500.
