We’ve rounded up our favourite styles and top trends from the Golden Globes.

Last night’s Golden Globes red carpet had us in heart eyes for half the night, with canary yellow and gold gowns, sequins and metal accents sparkling in the spotlights. Simple hair and makeup styles appeared to be the trend on the red carpet this year, along with plunging necklines and figure-flattering silhouettes. Same as last year, skin was in (so be sure you’re taking care of yours year-round!).

Honourable mentions go to Lily Collins for her on-point brows (#goals), Chrissy Teigen with her slicked-back pony and burgundy lip and Yvette Nicole Brown, who held down the red carpet interviewees in her curve-hugging rose-gold number.

As for men’s trends, beards are in. Chris Pine topped the best-beard list, while Donald Glover topped the best-dressed list, switching it up on the red carpet with a brown, velvet Gucci suit (while also joining the beard trend).

Our Favourite Looks from the Golden Globes Red Carpet

Nicole Kidman, Celestial Goddess

Kidman (49 years) looked simply celestial on the Golden Globes red carpet in a tulle and silver embroidered Alexander McQueen gown that showed off her amazing arms and décolleté! This ageless beauty emanates pure class and sophistication. Every award season Kidman outdoes herself and looks better with age. To prep her skin for the evening, iconic makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury used her new sheet mask (it’s launching next month and we can’t wait to try it!) to provide the perfect dewy canvas for Kidman's makeup. Apart from her skin ritual before the red carpet, I am dying to know what Kidman is doing to age so gracefully. Kidman has denied being party to cosmetic enhancement in the past, but can we really trust this since we know that some starlets are still shy to admit their beauty and anti-aging secrets openly when it means a visit to the doctor’s office? –AD

Gwendoline Christie's Flawless Skin

She's a game-changer on the tube and on the red carpet! Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie (38 years) was glowing during last night's pre-show event. Wearing a soft blush, flowing gown, Christie’s au naturel makeup look and soft, feminine hair styled away from her face showed off her flawless skin, no bold lip or smoky eye required. –ET

Olivia Culpo's Romantic Makeup

The youngest of our red carpet mavens, Olivia Culpo (24 years) still has me swooning. Aside from her gorgeous Frida Kahlo-esque Zuhair Murad dress that she paired perfectly with a bold brow and stood out from this year's Golden Globes trends, her burgundy eye and matching matte lip pulled me in. An elegant oversized, low, braided chignon and a sexy low-cut back topped off her look. –ET

Natalie Portman's '60s-Inspired Style

Pregnant with her second child Portman (35 years) showed off her baby bump with the utmost elegance in a mustard Prada gown that channeled the '60s in keeping with her nomination as Best Actress for her role as Jackie Kennedy. Portman’s look shows us that maternity fashion can be just as and (in my opinion) even more stunning than regular red carpet choices. The bold  yellow of Portman’s gown paired perfectly with her bright pink lip, making her skin glow from miles away. Topping off her ‘60s vibe was her sky-high half-up 'do and drop earrings—because if you’re going to channel this swinging decade, you might as well go all the way! –AD

Elevate’s Top Pick of the Night: Priyanka Chopra

I grew up watching Priyanka Chopra (34 years) in Bollywood films and concert shows so her red carpet appearance in Hollywood makes the little brown girl in me dance with glee! Biases aside, Chopra’s look on the Red Carpet topped highest on my list. With just the right amount of peekaboo cleavage her hourglass figure shone in the golden Ralph Lauren dress that showed off her curves (because confident women flaunt their curves with pride). Her beauty look featuring a subtle smokey eye and her rich wine lip was a red carpet trend that was also worn by Kerri Washington (who wore a metallic gold gown, too!). My verdict: 100 per cent perfection, Priyanka! –AD

Her lip colour is EVERYTHING—that is all. –ET
