12 10 toronto fashion week beauty trends blog 1Hi Elevate readers! My name is Diana. I’m the editorial intern at Elevate Magazine.

Check the view from my desk – pretty amazing, huh? My first of three months here is coming to an end (sadface), but I’ve learned so much along the way that I can’t wait to see what November has in store!

This past week, I had the chance to attend World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week! Here are some of the trends I saw each day.

Monday Oct 22nd kicked off with me heading backstage with the Redken hairstyling team, including lead Redken artist Jorge Joao, for the Holt Renfrew show. The focus was kept on loose, clean waves with deep side parts, enhancing each model’s natural texture. It reminded me of a loose, more relaxed version of Victoria's Secret runway hair.

Hot IMG model and bad-girl, Charlotte Free, was styled by Jorge for the Pink Tartan show. Her ombre look was an obvious choice for the brand, and fitting for breast cancer awareness month, too! Rainbow highlights are still going to be big next spring, it seems.

Charlotte opened the Pink Tartan show with a '50s inspired high-waisted skirt and bustier. The pretty, retro vibe was apparent through the show, as were high-waisted shorts and creamy pastels. For the hair, most girls sashayed down with long, black, easy-on-the-wallet clips, for a fun and girlish look.

On the nail front, Essie debuted their Winter 2012 collection, and show goers, including myself, got a taste of the new colours at the nail bar. Check out my shimmery choice, Beyond Cozy, below.

I also spotted gorgeous ombre nails at Mackage, inspired by the pastel turquoise lather jacket worn by this model (colours used here are Sand Tropez and Da Bush).

Wednesday’s Kolhani for Home collection was a big departure from Monday!

Hair and makeup ran the gamut; from bed-head looks to teased-out faux bobs, nude faces to full out glam cat eyes and poppy red lips, Kolhani showed us that creativity in the home is just as important as creativity with personal style!

Hope I’ve given you some fashion inspiration for spring 2013, straight from the Canadian runways!
